Fanatix – A New Social Media Network Dedicated to Sports Fans

Created in 2011, Fanatix is a social networking site that is dedicated to sports fans, providing users with the latest sporting stories from around the globe. It was designed by the creators of the “immensely popular” football blog – Caught Offside. Whereas ‘Caught of Side’ specialise in football results and transfer updates; Fanatix pride themselves on covering everything on the sporting calendar.

In addition to its news stream, Fanatix offer a group chat feature which they have so aptly named a ‘Huddle’. This platform allows users to swap banter, post their own content and share opinions on specific events. You can also subscribe to goal alerts, which are push through to your phone the moment they hit the back of the net; meaning whatever activity you’re doing (or being dragged into), you’ll always be up to date!

Fanatix have a strong and growing social media presence including 59,043 likes on Facebook, and 35,795 followers on Twitter. Their free app is available on iOS (including iPad), Android, and as a web app.

Within the last week, it has been confirmed that Fanatix have secured a further $1 million investment from a group of U.K. based Angels, who are yet to be disclosed. This latest subsidy raises the company’s total funding to $3 million. The new financing is said to be as a result of the significant, if not slightly unexpected, rise in its MAUs, which have risen from 150,000 to 1 million since the start of the year.
